Konik horse! That's a new breed for me. Do all of them carry the dun gene and only in grulla, or do they have other colors as well? Gaited?

Konik horse! That's a new breed for me. Do all of them carry the dun gene and only in grulla, or do they have other colors as well? Gaited?

I guess you can call them a semiferal horse.

They are mostly called Mouse Dun. They can come in other colors. Some look brown or bay based Duns, others look Grulla. I think there is a picture on the internet of a Bay Konik, I'm just not sure if it's 100% pure or not.

They are mostly called Mouse Dun. They can come in other colors. Some look brown or bay based Duns, others look Grulla. I think there is a picture on the internet of a Bay Konik, I'm just not sure if it's 100% pure or not.

They are decendants of the Tarpan, now extinct.

They are a Polish breed.
They have a lot of similar traits as the Tarpan.
They were once the center of Nazi experiments trying to create a German Tarpan. The horses were eaten by starving people however.
