Isn't Chimera when the horse is totally grey and has a bay face? I'm not to good with color genetics...
Chimeras are when faternal twins fuse together. So it's 2 sets of DNA in 1 horse. It's usually when the horse results in 2 different colors like this:

It causes random patches of colors to appear.
Brindle, however is sometimes caused by a rare occuraence of Chimerism.

The Grey with a Bay face makes me think more of a "Bloody Shoulder Mark" that is on the face.

No, but that's a really good guess.
Some of these horses are indeed gaited.This breed was either extinct or very nearly so, and brought back. One of their original uses was for hunting.
