They are one of my favorite breeds-I had the opportunity to ride one years ago, and I fell in love! They are claimed to be the only hypo-allergenic breed of horse, but it has not been verified.

my first horse had a full curly winter coat - he was just an old ranch horse but there must have been some baskir in there somewhere! he was a great horse, taught me to ride.

Wikipedia says the first Curlies were actually discovered in the mustang herds. Maybe that is where yours came from.
