Kentucky Mountain Horse?

I know she is NOT A CHOCOLATE, but she is a Foundation Rocky Mountian Horse. If you read my tag line I talk about her. She is 1 of 33 that were first registered for the Rocky Mountian Horse Association.
She gave me a lot of wonderful foals over the years. I just lost her a few weeks back. Came home from work and she was down she just dropped in her tracks. Never knew what hit her, vet said most likley a heart attack. She was still warm and her daughter was standing right with her.
She was at least 26 yo. but possibly much older, she was caught on a strip mine, put under saddle and registered with the RMHA back in 1986. So not sure how old she really was. But the association started in 1986 so that was put on her birthdate.

She is also registered with the KMSHA, and Racking Horse Association.

BTW, Rockies come in ALL colors except spotted. And no white above the knees, or spots of white, no bald face. I have Bay(all shades), Black,Blue Roan,Chocolate/Chocolate, and have had Red Chocolate, Red Roan, Chestnut, Palomino,Chocolate/Flax Mane and Tail.

I can post photos of some of the other colors if you like?

Thank-you,

Maye

She's pretty! I haven't seen one with that thick of a neck, at least not in person. I just saw a pic of one online and it does have quite the neck on it. I'm not familiar with gaited breeds though either.

I just love my Rockies, a car accident ended my riding troting horses. :banghead: But RMs fullfill my need for speed..... When I ride with troting horses I have to dog walk mine behind them or they are having to trot to keep up with my flatfoot walk. If I slow gait they have to canter or lope to keep up.:) When I open up my boy they have to hand gallop to keep up. I love to go all speeds.:D

Just took the last 2 photos. Need to start her under saddle. She just turned 5. I like for them to fill out and mature before any saddle work. That way they will be sound for riding and driving well into their 20's. She has been line driving and started pulling a tire to get her ready to hook to a cart.
