Actually 'lavender' is just another term for self-blue and you can only get them with the pastel gene. If you don't have the pastel gene you won't get self-blues or cream, etc.

Yes, I'd agree. Your 'lavenders' are actually blues.

You can get the very beautiful Silver color from breeding two birds that have the Blue gene--not all will be Silvers, however........

Silver I find to be just as lovely as Lavender........

I am cool with any color really, just thought they were lavs since that's what the eggs were labeled. I am sure it is like chickens you get such a % of this and that when breeding. I googled silver, you are right very nice indeed. Hopefully we can get into breeding these guys and gals and seeing what we get. It will be fun.
