Hi all! I raise Orpingtons and I'm looking for opinions on this year's hatch and what color you think they will end up as. I already have a pretty good idea of what each chick will turn out like based on previous batches, but I'm wondering what you think they will look like?
The father is a Crele split lavender, or an Isabel. Likely the former as he's the dominant roo. The mother's are either crele, lavender, Isabel, or black.
Of the three brown chicks, which do you think is the closest to the standard in terms of color?
Feel free to point out which you think might be hens or roos as well. From my understanding, crele is sex linked.
I'm not going to say what I think each is going to be is just yet, because I want to see if I'm on the right track based on others opinions
How do my chicks look?? This will be my third year with this breed, and I don't have space for a ton of birds or separate runs so I'm doing my best. This means I have to be very selective about which birds i keep. Which ones are your favourite? Thanks for your time!!
