Can you help give me an idea of who I should suspect if I hear crowing? I looooove roosters, but I live in a city that disallows them. This batch of chickies is about 2 months old. Thanks so much .

Bantam Polish. We call this one Poker for now, because it is super curious about the other chicks eyes and occasionally pokes them.

I call this bantam Cochin Miracle (because it was very sick when I got it and I nursed it back to health) until I discover it’s sex. I suspect it is a male due to those red waddles, what do you think? Also rather feisty.

I’ve been calling this silkie chick Pompom for now. I don’t give them permanent names until I know they’re female so I can keep them. I just could not get this booger to keep its head still to take a picture head on. It wanted to keep an eye on my scary self, lol.

Am reasonable sure this is a female and her name will be Penny. I have another RIR chick that is older and already out back that is named Henny.

Comb is larger. Usually silkies have walnut combs, but yours has a single which occasionally happens. It looks large for its age.
Thank you so much for answering . That is very helpful. I’ll know what to look for and who to keep an eye on. As for the comb, I think they came from Jenks hatchery (picked up at local farm & outdoor) maybe their line tends toward the straight comb trait?Anyway, If it ends up being a boy, I’ll just have to find him a new home and try again next year, lol.
