these were in a bin marked "buff brahma and nhr" with pale yellow chicks. So i think they are nhr, i really wanted brahmas, but neither variety had any black like the pic. Any input thx!!

Looks like New Hampshire to me. I've got a couple and they're great birds.

yeah they are much lighter than any bb pics ive seen too. the pale yellow ones (they are abt 2 weeks) i was fairly sure werent bbs either. gotta love tsc!

We have Wilco Farm Stores, the people there know as much about chickens as I do about brain surgery. I look at them when buying feed but have never bought any chicks from them. A friend worked there and one of his jobs was to pick the dead chicks out each night.

Actually a buff Brahma chick is a tanish color like this:

If your chick has a single comb and doesn't have feathered legs I would say that it is a NHR.

I am thinking of getting 2 baby chicks from TSC today..I saw they have a bin marked Light Brahams..does anyone have any good feedback regarding the chicks from there...any advice? I had 17 baby chicks thay were rescued and now have been rehomed..they were about 2 weeks old when I got them..I am looking for 2 pullets...are they good about the correct sex? I have 5 baby chicks that we are keeping out of the 17..think 3 are roos...they are about 6 weeks old..I really want some little girls...

nope no feathered legs and the other variety was much lighter than in this pic. Another mystery! I am going to go out on a limb and say tsc knows nothing about chick breeds!

Did they look more like this?

If they did then they were probably light Brahma chicks.

My guess is the run of mill Hatchery mutt, you never know what 4 or 5 breeds it has in it. so guessing may be a chalenge.
