Guess what I found in the coop?

I have found one in my coop. I did not know they eat chickens. Good to know. I came home after dark one night, in a hurry to lock my babies down (snow on the ground), locked them in and looked in the door and I saw something that did not quite look like a chicken. I grabbed a flashlight and saw a possum. I was stunned and grabbed a broom to try and get him/her out. It was hysterical at the time because it seemed so cute, but now that I know they will kill it was not so funny. I too would have locked the possum up inside and would have come out in the morning to dead chickens. I would not have been happy. I have not seen another one since. I have pictures on my cell phone. They are a little blurry. I will see if i can download them. Don't hold your breath; I am technologicaly impaired as my husband would say. LOL:he

Hard wire and vitamine L is the only way.

You can try a live trap and then DISPATCH !!

DO NOT relocate a Possum, this only presents problems for others.

Some have a Possum as a pet. That is OK if they are stuffed.

Possums will kill ALL your chickens given the chance.

Do not fool with these creatures, they intend not to fool wih you.

If you can divert them to your back porch with cat food do so.

Then stay up one night and give them their vitamine L.

They are notorius for going into a coop or barn RIGHT before dusk and hidding. They do not fear enclosures.

I check the barn EVERY NIGHT for these guys as best I can.
