Savory looking snake ya got there Jim!

We used to have a lot of Eastern diamond back on our property when we first moved here, and at the time my kids were small, so I went on my own personal rattlesnake round up that year, killed 22 of them.

I thought I'd just thin the population down to a more managable level, but after my little hunt we haven't seen any in several years.

I don't hate them, just couldn't take the chace of having them close to the house.

We have several pairs of king snakes that bask in the sun in the yard, I ran across one this summer finishing off a copperhead.

We have our share of rat snakes, etc. too.

Found this one last fall.

i know what ya mean RR,,, i wouldnt have minded this snake if it was anywhere else cept the yard,,, i love snakes,,, but nothing poisonous round my house kids are to curious. even tho they KNOW they can only touch animals if i say so,,, their kids and might not even notice till its too late.
and for the first time having it,,, stuff was pretty good

im thinking the same thing is gonna happen to the next 1 too hehe
