I've always had the slicer/shredder and the grinder attachments. I liked them better when they were made out of metal rather than the plastic they're using now. The plastic shields for the bowl are also handy; they keep flour and stuff from splashing out of the bowl when you're mixing things. There's an aftermarket paddle attachment which is handy because it has flexible plastic on the edge of the blade which scrapes the bowl as you mix things. Enjoy the mixer. That's the one essential in my kitchen; we make all our own bread with it. We've been married for 40 years, and I'm on the second KitchenAid. They last!
