    That's right, this guy did!

One hen about killed herself the other day slamming her head into a cage ceiling (She is the first one to do this, and here I was thinking they were boink proof.) She must have damaged her brain or spinal cord or something, because she wasn't right yesterday or today. I thought it was shock or something, but something REALLY went wrong in her head!

Anyways, I felt bad just killing her and throwing away good meat, so I figured I would bite the bullet and process her.

IT WAS EASY! I was freaking myself out, and just did it and it went great! (I just can't believe how easy her head came off, like neither of us noticed it! ) She died quick, and the only hard part was skinning her because she was kinda an old hen, so the skin was stuck on pretty good! .*.

Anyways, yes. I processed her. And she is now meat!

Way to go WC! It's really not so hard, and with a little practice, it goes really quick.

Congrats, glad it went well. My house had a discussion about this today, now the eating is up in the air due to processing. Guess we will see how things go lol

Quail is one of our fav meat birds. Now that you have your "feet wet" so to speak. [IMG] The next step is buffalo quail leg 1/4s.
