BYC family meet the newest addition to my flock
he's 7weeks old, a replacement for my last roo and just wanted to know what y'all think of his breed
His seller had assorted birds though more of RIR and BSL
He and another cockerel where the only ones with this coloration

Likely a mixed breed, also blue/grey eyed Chickens often means they have a disease

That's like a regular thing
Most chicks I've gotten have that blue coloration but later changes as they age

Yes that’s normal as well, but if it stays that color, you may wanna research about it.

Many chicks hatch with blue eyes that slowly change as they age. As for blue/ gray eyes in general you will see on a lot of blogs people saying to immediately cull the gray eyes, but I would advise you not to listen to blogs and follow the research. There was a study done on diseases and eye color where they found that diseases alone were not the sole cause for the gray eyes nor having gray eyes without other symptoms cause for immediate concern.

The poultryman's concern of gray eyes originates from two basically distinct problems and it is likely that the solution will be met only by a dual method of con- trol. For the breeder, all gray-eyed birds may be considered undesirable since the tendency is to adhere to the reddish-bay eye. The problem of controlling lympho- matosis by culling of cases showing the ocular manifestation should be based on symptoms other than color.” - Norman M.
