I have babies from these and am about to 'slpode trying to figure out what I'm going to end up with.

My favourite hen. She has 5 toes and black skin.

I know they're just mutts, but I'm having fun trying to figure out what colors they might make. The brow hen in the above shot also has five toes.

I'm thinking the first one with the 5 toes and black skin is part silkie because those are 2 traits of silkies. Not sure about the others but cochins and silkies have feathered legs.

I think thwe first may be a silkie cross

The second could be B Copper Marans crossed with speckled sussex???

and the roo....(maybe a sexlink?) does he have muffs on his cheeks? looks like a single comb?

The first is a Silkie cross.

The second is serious mutt, more than just bird A x bird B because mottling is recessive. Definitely NO Sussex or Marans in there.

The Main roo is likely also some sort of second generation mutt.

so all these babies I have, are a complete and utter crapshoot right? I'm hoping that my good egg layers have made me a bunch of good egglayers. That would be a positive result. OTOH, a bunch of Roos will mean cock soup and tamales for the restaurant.
