So pretty! So you have parent cuckoo silkies?Yes, he's a cuckoo.
Yep. I have one cuckoo hen. My rooster isn't a cuckoo, so that's why I mentioned that Rain and June are sexlinked. Rain is a cockerel and June is a pullet. So pretty! So you have parent cuckoo silkies?
Thank you for the guessesNow I think Ollie could be a pullet and Aspen appears to be a pullet as well. June and Rain have large crests so I'm leaning towards male for those two. But....these are just guesses![]()
That's true...only time will tellThank you for the guesses
June and Rain's mother has a very big crest. After checking photos of her at 6 weeks (cause I didn't have any at 5 weeks) I saw that she had a bigger crest than her brothers that were the same age. I'm not questioning your experience of course, just thought I'd point out that June might’ve inherited the big crest thing from her mother. And June and Rain are vaulted, while Ollie and Aspen aren't. That could also make the crests look a bit bigger.
Ollie seems to have just as big of a crest as Rain, I know you mentioned their mother had a large crest. Could you post a picture so I have an idea of how large to hopefully distinguish between pullet and cockerel. ThanksI have updated pictures. This week I think Rain is a cockerel and the rest are pullets.
