Welcome. There's a lot of us on the front range. Go check in on the CO board. 21 hens is in the Loveland area. She's hatching a bunch right now. NoCo Feeder Supply (FC) is the largest supplier of chicks in the area. They just hosted their annual COW Saturday. They had close to 30 different breeds of chickens in just for the event. Probably had upwards of 1500 chicks. They carry inventory year round. They list their weekly shipment inventory on CL. Jax and Ranch Way carry some inventory for about another month. CL is not a bad place to find chicks and started pullets. I have sold 100's of pullets this way. Not a bad way to start out. You know right from the start you are only getting hens. Even sexed chicks are going to average 10% males. Saves you the headache if you can't keep roosters. Mo (Boulder) on the CO board has some older chicks she wants to thin down. There aren't any "bad" choices for chickens around here. I try to stay away from the larger comb birds (only have one leghorn) because of the chance of frostbite. I like to stick with the pea combs (EEs, Ameraucanas, brahmas, wyandottes) and the smaller single combs (rocks, cochins, marans, welsummers). I like a variety of looking chickens and a variety of eggs.
