I have GSLs and Easter Egg Mutts that come from Privett. They've been very healthy and have laid very well. They are also the friendliest chickens in my flock, in general. The act every bit like a chicken, just like the Welsummers I got from a breeder. I try to give them the best life I can. They have a dry, warm (relatively) coop, a decent yard to scratch in and, weather and time permitting, the chance to free range a little. Sure I'd like to help preserve our American heritage poultry, but these girls are darn good chickens too. So, I don't feel the least bit guilty about buying them and I try and do right by them. No need for guilt what so ever.
