We have discovered that our little Miss Guinea has made a nest in the deep thicket/rasberry bush type ground behind the property. She has been brooding there for the last two nights. We will be removing the eggs today to break the broodiness for fear of her being eaten by a predator.

The question is we don't have a male guinea and if any eggs have been fertilized, its by the rooster. Does anyone have any info about hybrids? Will they survive and be healthy or will they have issue's and die young? Do we incubate or dispose of the eggs?

I have never personally hatched this, but a friend has. Only one survived out of a clutch of 7. They were really funny looking, lol. And I think it would be your decision about what you want to do with the eggs.

Naturegirl44 - a few more guineas sounds like a good idea. You'll be wanting to hatch eggs sooner rather than later! These guys really get under your skin, LOL. My suggestion if you can't comfortably house 10 guineas or more (which is the best plan), is to have ONE male to your hens (I have one male to four hens....soon to be five hens). It cuts down on arguments in the flock.
