This year I'm letting the guinea fowl hatch their eggs.... I have two females and they have/are laying in one area in a coop under an upside down garbage pail (large). There is almost 30 eggs under there and I see one/two of the females laying. How come none of them are actually brooding the eggs? That's a long time for the eggs just to be sitting there..worried they will go bad? Should I be doing something? Should I shut the gate when I see one of the females laying so she can't get out?

The guineas will go broody when they are ready to go broody. If you interfere with them they will abandon the nest. Be patient.

Good luck.
