We have two female Guineas that our roosters are very interested in. Today, when using a couple of their eggs, we noticed they are definitely fertile. That of course led me to thinking...what would happed if we incubated them? I know guinea/chicken hybrids can happen, but what are the odds of them actually hatching? Can the chicks pip through the super tough guinea shells? Or is it usually a male Guinea breeding a chicken hen, thus making the egg shells easier to pip? I'd love to try some, but I don't want the poor chicks getting all the way to hatching then not being able to pip. Also, are the hybrids hardy? I don't want to have anything that would struggle through life and not live very long...

Am I just crazy (quite possible)? :p

There's been several threads like this in the last few months (must be guinea breeding season) if the chick makes it to hatch, it won't live much longer
