Is there a way to tell if a guinea is close to laying? Mine are about 18 weeks old. Or would they lay this close to winter? I've heard guineas are more seasonal than chickens? What knid of nest setup should I have for them, on the ground or off the ground, etc?

Mine started laying at 14 weeks old here in Massachusetts. They have just stopped laying for the season this past week.

My guineas stopped laying a week or two ago so I doubt they will way until next spring.
I would set there nest area on the ground.
