I need some input on when to lockdown guinea eggs. I read that they pip on days 24-26 and i was wondering when you guys lockdown. I am trying a dry incubation and have kept the humidity at 33-40% . I know that it will have to be in the 70% for the last few days or they will stick like sushi rice.
so when should i lockdown? appreciate anyones input. Oh yea i am on day 21 and just candled them and they all have movement and nice aircells.

A couple of months ago, I hatched guinea eggs and I went on lock down on the 25th day bc I was always told it took 28 days for their incubation period.

Everything I've read says guineas take 28 days to hatch. Someone forgot to tell them that! Every egg I have set in my bator has hatched by day 25. So I would stop turning them on day 23, just to be safe

thats the general thought. even though they are supposed to take 28 days most people say they hatch by the 24-25 day. I just did'nt want to lockdown too early and have to much humidity when the time comes. or wait too long and have sticky chicks. at last candling i had 2 out of 18 quitters but everything else that i can see looks good. this is my first guinea hatch so i am keeping my fingers crossed.

My first hatch now. At day 21. Yes, worrying when to stop turning...
