Hey All,
I read in a post of feeding millet and sunflower seeds to guineas. I thought about the millet and believe wild bird feed has a lot of millet in it
So my question is there a concern about feeding some wild bird seed to 10 week old keets?

Just remember, anything other than a quality feed appropriate for their age should be considered a treat. Treats should be limited to a maximum of 10% of their total feed.

Wild bird feed is typically a low protein and high fat food and should be only considered as a treat.

Guineas do best on a high protein diet, like a game bird food. Your wild bird feed will be low protein, high fat. Wild bird seed won’t have quality controls like poultry feed. No telling what may be in the mix.

My guineas have access to good quality grower all the time along with grass and grasshoppers. But they love bird seed as a treat in the afternoon. Especially the white millet. There is nothing wrong with birdseed as a treat. But it should not be a main source of food. ;)
