We have two female guineas that we raised from keet. Born July 2018. One is all white and the other is pied. The pied has just recently been laying around all of the time. We have had bad weather, lots of rain and a hurricane (Texas). Usually, they are mostly just foragers but we feed them occasionally and when we call them to feed, they come running but now the pied one does not seem interested in food at all. I can easily walk up on the pied guinea now. If I touch her, she will walk away but not fast. She is also not roosting with the white guinea at night. What could be wrong with her?

Not sure,, but is the HOT weather a possibility for her ailment.?
Is it possible, that the pied Guinea ate something bad??
Hoping she recovers soon :hugs

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

Thank you for your reply. At the current moment our hot weather is on hold due to rain, so temps have been in low 80's but unfortunately, our pied passed last night after this post.

:hugs Sorry to hear this. I never had guineas, so not familiar with their life span. I keep chickens as pets. Had a Red sexlink chicken once. She pulled only about 4 years. That is typical for those chickens.
My oldest pet chicken pulled 13 years.

I'm sorry your Guinea passed. I'm new to having Guineas (I have three), but these birds in our backyards work their way into your heart with their idiosyncrasies. I hope your other one stays healthy. Best wishes, Jacki
