Guinea fowl died

My dear Guinea fowl Ellie Mae was found dead today. I’ve been taking care of her for a couple of years. No trauma to the body just laying face forward on her chest. I am broken hearted. She was a sweetheart. It may have been pesticides since the neighbors were landscaping 2 days before, but can’t say. Didn’t know her age since she adopted me. She was very trusting of me. Just reading other people’s stories.

This hurts and I loved her just as if she was a cat or dog. She trusted me.

I think it would be worth asking your neighbors if they were spraying pesticides. If you have birds in the future you can refer back to this situation and ask for them to offset their pesticide use further back into their property or to give you a heads up so you can possibly crate your birds for a few days.
