We have had the guinea keets in the chicken coop for about 5 weeks now. Our chickens were free ranging everyday before we added the keets. I really want to get them back outside but have read different opinions on how long to wait before letting them out. Any advice would be great!

I also have young guineas that I have started free ranging. I read somewhere on BYC to only let some of them out at a time. I tried this and it works! The guineas will not go far from the ones that are still locked up. Once they get used to where to go in and out, then you can let them all out. However, my guineas have been covering a lot of territory and I don't see them for hours. I lost one of the youngsters. I don't know if it was to a hawk, neighbors dog, a cat, etc. So now I always hold some back just to keep the other ones closer to home.
