Hi there,

Thanks so much for allowing me to join your site.

I live in Australia and have in the last few months purchased four adult guinea fowl.

One of them laid a clutch of about 34 eggs and was sitting quite happily but then just left the eggs and didnt go back to them.

Now my other female has laid a clutch of 31 eggs.

Question is......she started to sit on these 31 eggs four days ago. Today I put 27 of her eggs into the new automatic incubator
I bought. Do I count from the day the hen started sitting OR do I count from today when I put the eggs into the incubator.

Thanks everyone, look forward to some much needed help.

Cheers,
Bon

G'day, and welcome to BYC, Bon. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chook person and don't know much about Guineas (never had any), but I would suggest posting on our Guinea section in Other Backyard Poultry under the Forum at the top of the page and take advantage of our Guinea experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Wow, never knew guineas could lay so many eggs. The "Guinea thread," would be your best bet for advice.

Thanks Michael for your advice I will see what help I can get on the Guinea forum.

Cheers,
Bon

When I steel the eggs like you did I start from the day I put the eggs in to the incubator .....

A lot of guinea will abandon their nest if disturbed

Thanks for the welcome to the BYC Forum. Really appreciate the time you have taken to answer my question.

I am very hopeful that I will have some sort of success from the incubator. So as they say......."watch this space" !! LOL.

Thanks again.

Thanks heaps for that. I feel a bit more confident about what I'm doing now.

That's a great next your girl has found for herself. They are such funny birds aren't they.

Good luck with yours.

Cheers,
Bon
