I've heard that guinea fowls eat ticks. That they go crazy for ticks. I have ticks around my house, and I'm wondering if they will make a difference. If so, how many do I need. Also, If I got them, it would be for spring and summer. Are they any good for meat? I'm not queen on keeping a bunch of them in with my chickens for the winter. I only want them for ticks.
Thanks in advance

:ya :love :drool I love my two guineas and highly recommend them, even though they peck some of the chickens feathers. I don't know if guineas eating ticks is true or not, but I hope you find out! They do use guineas in gardening so they should eat ticks! Hope this helps, and the guineas are so funny! :pop

My guineas solved my tick problem. I found 3 a bare minimum for a large fenced yard, 5 seems ideal. I pen them at night and let them forage in the day. I don't know about meat, but I find guinea eggs taste better than chicken or duck eggs.
