We had a very weird situation happen and I would love to have any advice on Guinea if you all would be willing.

Backstory:
We have a neighbor across the street here in TN that seems to love acquiring animals but not so much the effort of taking proper care of them. He’s had animal control called on him 2-3 times since we have known him (8 years) but they’ve done nothing. This past spring he decided to raise a flock of chickens and guineas.

Since they were all free range, the guineas traveled a radius from their home that included our property. The chickens also traveled across the road onto part of our 2 acres, but not as far as the guineas did. Over time, his flocks dwindled and I am not sure he has any left other than 1 chicken and 1 guinea, both of whom have traveled up our hill and now live together on our property full-time free-ranging near the house.

(It won't let me undo the bold font so...) We have chickens but not Guineas. She's choosing to live her so we have let her. We recently had to contain her chicken friend because she hatched a brood of chicks. She loves to be near us, but not so near we can touch her. She even found a way into our house once... brave little thing since we have 6 cats that live in there!!!

What should/can we do to make her happier?... Oh, and is she a her? I really have no idea. I don't see any eggs around, but then again, I didn't see any of the 15 eggs that her chicken friend laid, either.

Once her chicken friend is free ranging again when her chicks are old enough, Guinea will hopefully not seem so lonely.

It is most likely a male. If it isn't bothering you, I would just let it be.

The best option is to rehome it to someone that already hss a flock of guineas.

Definitely not bothering us. We are enjoying him, honestly, even though he's making a mess of our porch which is where he is most of the time when he's not looking at his own reflection in the chrome of one of our vehicles.

He seemed very watchful over the chicks his chicken friend has. He stayed nearby and let them know whenever a predator was in sight. He still likes to visit them just outside their coop some of the day.
