guinea hatching eggs for sale

Do you still have eggs and were abouts in GA are you we are in South East Alabama and my Daughter teaches school in south west GA
thanks Gary

WOW 12 dozen! How many Hens do you have?

I'm in CA, (already incubating and will have plenty of my own eggs) but was wondering if you have any new helpful secrets for storing your shipping eggs... because I will be overrun with eggs by the end of March/early April (45 Hens), so I'm always looking for tips and suggestions on shipping. I keep my eggs cool for a few days while I'm collecting (and tilt/turn them daily) before shipping and make sure they are shipped out to arrive when they are no later than 7-10 days old. I use shavings for packing the eggs in extra large egg cartons and wrapped with lots of bubble wrap, and always shipped Priority... just curious if you used any other methods and have any better suggestions? Or if anyone else has any better suggestions/ideas?

Peeps I think the OP posted in 2009.

Oops... see how distracted I am, lol. I only paid attention to the date of the reply, not the OP date...

I've only got about 3 minutes of spare time these days when I actually get to sit down at the laptop and read/reply on the forums

Oh well, maybe someone else that collects and ships a lot of eggs will chime in

'cause it's gonna be an egg-o-rama here soon. Last season I had anywhere from 12-18 dozen stacking up/waiting in line, and that was with double stuffed/layered incubators going the whole time, lol. I won't be incubating that many this time, and I have an additional 18 or so Hens this yr

Hi Robin,
I do currently have keets to sell, and I am hatching small batches each week, (unfortunately my timing is off and my hatches are happening on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which does not work out for shipping keets tho... I need to change my egg setting schedule!). Not sure exactly where you are but it looks like you are a 4+ hour drive from me... so I'm not sure you want to travel that far. (The keets will need to be kept warm for the journey if you do decide to make the trip).

In the next month or so I'll have better fertility rates on my collected eggs if you want hatching eggs instead (batches of mixed colors). You can PM me if you'd like, and we can work something out.

In January i got Silkie eggs..........Every egg was wrapped in a piece of papertowel and set in a egg carton with sawdust on the bottom
The whole egg karton was taped and wrapped in bubble wrapp. No egg was broken . The hatch was great. Maybe it helps you, Peeps

Thanks Balefire, ummm... WHERE'VE YOU BEEN!! I don't see you post much here any more. And hush, cuz I want Silkies!!!! I just don't have the set up for them

I have shipped eggs in a similar way to this before... in shavings in extra large egg cartons, then wrapped with bubblewrap til the cartons resembled the Michelin Man, lol, then put in a box. They all arrived in once piece. The person that set them tho used broody Game Hens and the Hens dropped the ball and got off the nests or something and I don't think the eggs were ever candled, but supposedly none of the eggs hatched. So I don't know how the viability rates were after their journey in my packing job

That's the only time I ever shipped eggs in the past, after that my egg sales have been all local pick ups.

I've been poking around some tho, checkin' out how a lot ship their eggs... there's some pretty elaborate combinations of packing materials used out there, lol. But as long as the eggs are well padded, it's basically all in the hands of the USPS and Mother Nature after that point anyway. And we all know how cruel both of these "higher powers" can be at times, lol (my apologies to any USPS employed BYC'rs out there, but it's true! LOL).

Hey Peeps..... I am getting TWO Silky Roos on Saturday.... one a Black and one a splash.... Truffle and Sparkle. Just a couple of boys who were supposed to be girls.... I am going to get them some girls. hee hee.
