Hi guys,
So this is my first spring with my 4 guineas (3 male & 1 female)
At first I was freaking about the males fighting (but then I read some info on here that eased my mind)

Today I found 1 egg lying on my front yard. I took the egg into the coop and put it in the wonderful nest I build her. But I'm worried she wont know to sit on it....
I just read a post that said to keep her in until she lays her egg for the day. Good call I will do this too

Any advice is appreciated

First time layers often drop their eggs wherever they happen to be at the time the urge hits them. It takes them awhile to figure out what is going on.

Just because you think the nest site that you made is wonderful does not mean the guinea hen will think it is a desirable place to lay.

Not all guinea hens will go broody. Those that do go broody often lay a large clutch of eggs before they decide to go broody. Do not expect her to start sitting on eggs anytime soon.

Thank so much for the feed back.
This is quite an adventure and I love my birds.
I know I need a few more birds and that will happen hopefully soon
Cheers
