only the shadow knows.....
I'm sure it's here on the boards somewhere (my little pea brain just can't find it right now) What are the housing requirements for Guinea's?

I have built a "Playhouse" coop but the girl I built it for specificly wont be able to use it. My "headless" chicken Tessy can't make it up the ladder into the coop. So I was thinking of getting a few Guinea's to help with the bugs around here (bad bug summer) and using the modified "playhouse" coop for them to roost at night. The coop itself is 2x4x 3 with an additional 18in into the peak of the roof. Would that be big enough for 3-4 Guinea's?

My neighbors are going to freak!! Good thing we have no homeowners association!!!

My guineas are in a room in the main poultry barn. I do plan to move them to the little house over by my garden very soon so they can eat the nasty bugs that seem to be thriving on my vegetables.

Will guineas go into a garden and not destroy the vegetation? If so, I think I may be in the market for guineas!

I didn't have any problems with my guineas tearing up the garden. Chickens on the other hand.......Guineas are great on bugs, snakes, mice, small children, you name it they eat it.

I got rid of most of mine while I was on chemo a year ago. Couldn't deal with all that noise. Got rid of the last 2 when they started going after my 17 year old cat~
