Guinea Joy

I love my guineas, YES they are LOUD but they are funny and I have not seen a tick since we got them and although I am not sure how this could be related to our guinea the mosquito population since guinea ownership 3 years ago has dropped off dramatically. Mine live with the chickens and turkeys (free range) sleep in the barn at night and play nice. I have heard horror stories of guineas and chickens, if that day ever comes guess I will finally figure out what guinea tastes like! But they are great. Cold hardy at least to my southern Idaho temps.

Mine are great! They get along with the chickens and ducks and are VERY entertaining!

Will be getting more this spring.

I love mine.....but they are definitely getting their own coop! lol They do bully the chickens a little bit, though I have one silkie roo that bullies right back! Way to go Thirsty!

I think with them hanging out with the chickens too much, they are becoming more feed dependent then I want them to be. Hoping a move 50 yards away and into the woods will get them back in 'guinea mode'.

i love having them too, they will come up to the car and check things out- we have a house guinea i am try to decide if this is the wrong time of year to put her with the rest-

yes she found the top of the fridge and is sitting on the microwave-

i'm not sure why folks don't like them- they keep us amused!

mine are always getting into trouble. they like to play chicken with cars in the road. next to my turkeys they are the most hillarios birds i have ever had. and yes mine are getting there own coop. there not getting out this summer until all eggs are layed for the day. no more egg hunting for me.
