Guinea prices....

I love royal purple. However, I do not promote getting guineas as adults. They will never even come near you, and they might run (or fly) away. Baaad idea.

We were told to make sure we lock them up for at least 6-10 weeks before letting them free range to make sure they will stick around!! My mother in law and I have been pretty good at getting the older ones to love us!...hopefully we can do it with them too if we decide to get them!

I'll let everyone know what we get tomorrow!!

I have no real experience with guineas except for a male that came to live with me about a month ago. He roosts on my 4 foot high bantam tractor run and spends his time moving between my LF pen & the tractor. He has become progressively more friendly as the weeks have gone by. He comes running full speed for afternoon scratch. He just showed up here. I am seriously thinking of making a pen & getting 4-5 more adult guineas and see what happens. I love having him around & except for one day early on, he has never left here since he showed up. His name is Gilbert.

I just bought 2 Guineas for $8.00 each. one is a pearl gray and the other is purple. here in north Ga. the going price is usually around 6 to 8 dollars. I just saw some advertised today for 4 dollars each and if you took 10 or more they would be cheaper, that was for grown birds not keets.

We didn't get any keets today...they should be ready next week! BUT....we did get 2 laying guineas and a guy friend for them!

We paid $40...the girls are royal purple and the guy is a pied. And the seller threw in 2 Serama chicks and a Silkie chick!!

Don't think that was that bad of a price! What do you think??

wow....great prices if you are the seller....keets $2-4....sub adults....$6-8....laying adults $10-12...remember guneas are seasonal layers, laying march-october....rest of year they just eat and make noise...but they are tasty

I think I saw some last week at the swap meet going for 7 bucks, for sub adults. I may get a few tomorrow if they are there. maybe. I have been wanting keets for a couple of months.

Wow, guineas are abit more pricey here. Keets sell anywhere from $8-12 each, depending on age. Adults average $30 each, though often go for way more. We sold 5 eight month old pairs, (2 pearls, 1 buff dundotte, 1 lavender/white, and 1 royal purple) for $80-$100 each at the spring sale. Not too shabby.

I just bought Guinea Keets here for $3 bucks each.. Which the local hatchery around here charge $3.87 for day old keets. I know that Adult Guineas are hard to come by here. You can purcahse a straight run threw the local sale barn and have seen them go for around $10 to $22.50 each.. But I have noticed you are getting more males than you are females.. I think with mine I have like 10 males and only like 3 females... Seems like females here are hard to find.. LOL
