Guinea question(s)

If you don't want to deal with the noise, don't get any! Having just one is loud enough. I have six and I love them, but the noise just frazzles my nerves.

I started with 6 keets 2 years ago and last year bought about 25 keets, this year am incubating the eggs and selling keets as well as replacing the ones who have been part of the food chain for the hawks and other predators. My only addition to the excellent advice given so far is to make sure your dog isn't a Lab or any other type of bird dog. My dogs don't mess with my guineas, except the Lab, who follows his instinct and catches them when they fly into his run. I have lost several to him, who seems to think he is doing me a favor! I do not have a tick problem on the dogs or the horses, but my goddaughter calls the guineas "noisees", as they do let the world know when they have an opinion!
