So i got a pair of guineas a while ago when i bought my pair of geese and it turned out to be 2 males! One of the males has one bad eye so i guess thats what makes him lazy and laid back lol but the other one is one feisty little guy! He was always a bit grumpy ever since the first day(probably due to the shortage of females lol) and i was going to get some females once i had time but then he stole my turkeys hens! If my turkey even gets close, they will fight and oddly the guinea wins lol. But the worst part is that they free range and he takes them super far to lay eggs and one day one of the females didnt come back. I tried looking for her but to no success until one day i found her dead with 13 eggs! Im guessing it was an ocelot since i saw one the other day. But im going to buy females in about 2 days, but will this make the male abandon the turkey hens? or will he keep staying with them? Because i can take the guineas to my house instead and i got plenty of land here where they can stay so i dont mind. Thanks:)

Hard to say what that male will do, he may never give up the Turkey Hens. Personally if he were my bird, I would pen him up for a while, give him a time out and give the Turkeys a chance to fall out and regroup. The new Guinea Hens will need to be penned up for a while before you let them free range (or they will most likely disappear really quickly), so he may decide he likes them better (while they are penned, where he can see them). If after adding the new Guinea Hens he still prefers the Turkeys... then it sounds like to me he needs to be penned for the rest of the breeding season so he leaves the Turkeys alone.

If you don't have any other birds at your house, just 4 Guineas may not be content... and of course will all need to be penned for a while so they do not wander off looking for their previous homes.

Ok thanks, ill try that! Hope he starts liking the new females

btw does this happen a lot? a guinea staying with a turkey? and can they actually make the eggs the turkey lay fertile? Just wondering lol
