I have a few young guineas that free range during the day and have a coop for nights. They are young, about 4 months old. My chicken run is covered with netting over the top- 2" square nylon netting, I think it was meant to cover fruit trees to keep birds from the fruit. The guineas have gotten caught in the netting several times this week. They want to land on the netting or roost on the edges of the chicken run. They have plenty of other, better, higher places to roost!
In the past I had been able to go out and free them from the netting, but today, I very sadly had one get his head so tangled that he died while I was at work. I feel awful!!!! The netting was a bit loose in some areas so I made sure I tightened it up the saggy areas.
Any ideas on ways to keep the guineas from wanting to land on the netted roof of the chicken run?
