Guineas have gone mad!

We have 12 guineas - 6 juveniles of six months and six older ones, ages unknown. During the last month they have all gone mental! Screaming incessantly, even at night. They're getting the same food, the same amount, all free range and roost in the same places they have always done. There has been no change in their routine. They've started terrorizing our ducks and roosters to the point we have to creep about trying to feed them. Is this a phase? Or do we just have too many? Am thinking of downsizing and getting rid our babies Any suggestions please - we need some quiet!!!

This is normal. Guineas raised with other fowl can seem perfectly fine until their hormones kick in. They will continue to stress out your other poultry.

I raise my guineas separately from other birds and house them separately from the other poultry. They understand their behavior while other poultry do not understand their mannerisms. Because mine do not think the other poultry are just strange looking guineas, they leave the other poultry alone.

You can try keeping your guineas apart from your other birds.

Thanks for that....I kind of figured they were being petulant teens! Not sure I can separate them, it would mean a major build and reshuffle and think the best thing I can do is try and catch them and find them a good home. Sad....they were my babies - the first successful batch we hatched.
