Guineas Killed

i am so surprised a dog could catch a guinea flying away or running away. they can fly like birds and run like a freaking road runner!!!
none of my dogs can catch a guinea even if they tried. well maybe a big dog could but all mine are small breed dogs.

WOW, I used to work for a lady who had them and they all flew on top of the coop and raised holy H-E-double toothpicks everytime ANYTHING alarmed them. I've thought about getting some, but haven't taken the leap yet, I have a rather wild and woodsie back yard so I'm not sure what they'd do here. hehe.

I really hate to hear about a loss like this though. I hope that dog stays well away from the rest of your flock!

I think an owl tried to get my guineas last night. Something spooked them and the only thing I could see or hear was an owl down in the woods. Their pen and house is owl secure being covered with welded wire. I feel for anyone loosing their birds or pets, for it really hurts.

I've seen my Guineas racketing and approaching a FOX when one showed up at the tree line. I have had a dog kill a Guinea when it could corner one against the fence. They usually do fly away in one big noisy racketing flock when disturbed by something that I never see.
