So I got 6 guineas a few months ago as adults....and a few days ago I let them out in the yard for the first time with the chickens. They had a great time eating everything in sight and chasing my horses around lol. It took us about a half hour to round them up and get them back in the coop for the night . Today I let them out for some yard time and when it was time to go in I got the proverbial middle finger from them as they happily flew up into the trees to roost. Hope they are OK tonight

The barn is open for them and they seemed to like to venture into the hay room.

Oh no. I have guinea eggs in the incubator. I hope mine come home at night. And don't give me the finger. LOL

Think I might even get some keets....seems they will be easier to train if I start from scratch. Need to expand the flock a bit lol just today plucked 7 ticks off my horses...im freaking out and its only April!

Ticks are nasty creatures. I also just won some guinea eggs and will be setting them this weekend. I didn't know they might flip me off and go rougue. Up in the trees smoking cigarettes or something i suppose.

Mine roost in the trees year round......I lose one to an owl once in a while but other than that they do fine. There is no way they'd let me herd them anywhere!

Ours sleep in the elm tree right outside our back door. I had an owl try for them once (and an Oppossum), but they racketed up and I stepped outside with a big flashlight and scared it off. We have a bunch of keets now and I "hope" we can convince them to roost inside at night. We'll see how it goes. Three times this last winter I had to run around freezing my backside off to catch up the guineas and put them inside so they wouldn't freeze solid. After watching them all fall "clunk" out of their tree one morning after an overnight ice storm froze their wings shut!
