Swollen Eye with Discharge

Hi all,

we recently treated my chickens for mites with permethrin and i think we accidentally got some in one of my hen’s eyes and now its very swollen and she has discharge from it. i got some saline flushes to flush out her eye but what else can we give her to help?

I would make sure it is all out of the eye by flushing it and examine the eye carefully. Then apply terramycin to the eye 2 - 3 x per day. If you don't have or cannot get terramycin, you can use plan neosporin (plain w/out pain reliever).
