guineas out to kill the hens

I think wren is correct about the numbers. Larger group of guineas works better. Guineas are great. Didn't see a tick while I had them that summer, but this year was terrible. Made me think of them every time I pulled a tick off me or my dog.
 
I agree that wren summed it up very well.
Guineas do so much better when they are able to free-range 100% of the time. The biggest problems arise when they are confined with chickens or fed with chickens.

I love my Guineas. They are wonderful for bug & tick control.

To answer Aun's question, yes it is possible to have a single but I would make absolutely certain its a female. They aren't usually the ones that begin the trouble with the chickens but they will join in when the boys start.
