I have two boys (who are very bonded) that have decided to roost on our gutters and make an absolute mess, both in the gutters and the concrete below. They are less than 12 months old and used to happily go into the chook house at night with my two hens. But suddenly they've decided that they like the gutters of our house instead. How can I encourage them to roost elsewhere, preferably with the chooks as we only have trees lining our property (4 acres) and plenty of foxes. Can you actually train a Guinea?

Guineas can be trained. In your case the "make them uncomfortable" method should work. You have to be consistent and chase them off of the gutters every time that they go there. Be proactive and chase them whenever you see them headed in that direction.

My guineas wanted to roost in the trees so I used a really long stick to chase them out of the trees whenever they would fly into them. I also used two long sticks to herd them into the coop in the evening. My guineas no longer fly up into the trees and I only use one stick to herd them into the coop.
