Guineas

This AM, the farmer down the road offered to give me some guinea chicks. I have never raised them. Are they similar to raising chickens? He has about ten Whits guineas he said I can have. he has way to many.

Guinea fowl are pretty independent. They like to free range. As chicks they are pretty much the same. The older they get the louder they are. They have a taste that nothing can compare too. Slow roast salt, pepper, garlic butter marrinaed...Mmmmmm!

I keep my two guinea hens with my first flock of 6 chooks and they have been together since they were all bought as babes at tsc. They get along and get fed the same. Same care same everything.
