Last year was a disaster when it came to hatching guinea. We have about 10 guineas, male female fairlt equal. We successfully hatched 2 out of probably a hundred eggs last year. First year for them laying. Hens were not staying on their nests and when we would find the nest and collect the eggs we would be unsuccessful at hatching. Spring is here again and any advice would be cherished.

How were you trying to hatch?
I find guinea hens are sometimes not good mothers, or maybe it's just because my thick orchard grass is not like the African plains.
I have found nests and incubated successfully. Also stuck eggs under broody hens and had success.
Eggs may have been to old, partially developed and dead, or your incubator is off.

Tried using our incubator. It has a digital read out but that doesn't make it right. It was new so figure it should be trustworthy.May have been to old. I will try using hens this year. My incubator holds 48 so I would fill it and then turn it on. Maybe that is the issue.
