I (Dave) have been tinkering for a while on the guitar. Though I'm a 15 year drummer. My father is left handed and I'm righty, so I used to normally play his upside down. Then I needed to learn whatever it is on my guitar later. I've always been a fan of guitar tabs, but that was years ago, and some companies have even started making lawsuits on some sites, but there are ton out there. All they are, are a different way to read music, and it's usually from the person who made it's perspective. That's why you may find many different versions of a song you want to learn. Now ever since Youtube came along, that made things much easier. Just search for the song and add guitar lesson, and 9 out of 10 times it's there. I can't express enough, how important chords are. It's a concept that I've found relatively difficult to understand at first (in drumming, we don't use them). I can pick fairly well, but chords are where I falter. Anywho, that's my input, just stick with it, try something easier, and have fun.
