Gunieas?

Mine have always free-ranged. I very seldom lose any adults to predators. Guineas aren't like chickens. They remain more of a wild bird even tho they're domesticated.

The only down side to freeranging guineas if you will loose hens in the summer. Once they decide to sit on a nest a big flashing billboard shows up over the nest that says "come eat me" the predators can see it a mile away. We keep flocks of breeder birds penned and let the extra males range, they do pretty well at not getting eaten.

My neighbor's Guineas (who live at my house--joy o joy) have gotten themselves eaten by foxes. I totally believe her Guineas have caused foxes to come into our yards. We never had a fox problem until her Guineas started roaming everywhere.

My gunieas are going strong... they go on my roof and have learned to take flight. I love them. My sister-in-law's dogs got ticks... my dogs don't... could be the gunieas.
