Gutted- nothing happening

Well they should have arrived day 19 lock down was thurs gone and still nothing

And my 3 nov dues are nothing either - keep looking but cant hearing or seeing nothing

We had a power cut a few days ago and think they
Must of died. It's so annoying. With a few days to go.

When do I accept failure and crack them!

I had some hatch 5 days late.. But it was a temp issue. I kept the temp to low.

What do you do when you don't know what day they should hatch? Can you tell by candling?

I am learning via the school of hard knocks. I put in an aftermarket fan to keep temps even, and have learned to accept disappointment and losses. Just keep reading and trying and you will have successes.
I candled my last batch of ten and only one had a chick. Maybe hitting 120 degrees for an hour or so when I put the fan in and went to the store killed off the embryos, minus one?

I did that early on too 120. But I had survivorslol
I brought 36 eggs. 11 infertile and over the 21 days I'm down to 9.

Due to my first diy attempt

Electric failure

My other diy is a little more stable with a water thermostat but still no noises yet but they have 2 days to go

I brought a new thermostat digital controller from hongkong for my next attempt. As they don't sell wafer switches here in uk anywhere. Not the full switch I can get the the metal bit lol

Candling. You will know as the egg will have a large air sac and the egg will be completely black nothing visible maybe a few veins
But beware this also means bad egg! Lol. So snatch and sniff the way to go!
Do you know you don't need to stagger hatches if collecting fromhen you can store point down like hen would for 14 days then start all together. Of is not always Mark date on egg in pencil.

Well it was lockdown last thurs so today was crack day

Had think 7. Then only 5 Go to lockdown.

1 black yolk
1 very small dark yolk hence the dark shadow
1 tiny with large yolk non grower
2 chickens. Dead in shell
Both not absorbed yolk one small buldged on bum very large bird in shell was a silkie 5 toe black skin lol
Other chick very tiny stripey normal toes big yolk sac

Can I post pics suppose it a bit sick

I gave them a wash and took pics of what coulda been lol
Don't worry I didn't blow dry lolol

I took pic of membrane too not sure if it shrink wrapped wasn't tight but I don't know

That one chick was very large in shell I took size comparison
