My niece absolutely LOVES the Jonas Brothers, but in my day, it was New Kids on the Block. I had a crush on Joey McIntyre.

Mmmmm... The Osmond Brothers. (Although I'm more of the "Donny and Marie Show" age.) Sigh.... they were dreamy!

I stopped paying attention to the boy bands about the time they became a Disney side business. Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, those little blond brothers that I can't remember a name for, Jonas Brothers, etc, etc, etc. They generally have just a smidgen of talent, blow through the country for a few years and then vanish when they outgrow the cuteness. They are marketed to death by the Disney Machine and then discarded when they get too old. It's kind of sad actually. These kids get used to the hype and then are left with nothing when they hit their 20s.

I miss the days when singers actually had talent and worked their way up from singing at county fairs and local talent shows. They weren't all gorgeous people, but they sure did sing!

Yes, I know who they are as my 16 yr. old DD has her entire room plastered with their posters.

In my day, it was the Everly Brothers, Ricky Nelson and Buddy Holly that made my poodle skirt swish.

Heard Bob Dylan say in an interview last year that as far as he was concerned, there's no good music being written anymore. I totally agree with Bob.
