Ha Ha! My run is secure!

In some ways I agree but I figure after all I am in his territory. I live on the edge of the desert and so it's my responsibility to secure my babies from him since he is only doing his "natural" thing. I'm just glad that I have all of you at byc to teach me how to have chickens the responsible way. Lots of security!

I have a Fort Knox (see my BYC Page) and have never had a predator problem. I often panic when I'm watching TV in the evening or drift off to napland, wake up, and realize that it's dark out, and I haven't locked the gate to the run. So far I've been LUCKY.
I think predators have tried and given up because I've seen their paw prints, but that doesn't mean they won't be back later.
I also worry about raccoons, opossums, coyotes getting them while they're out free ranging or that a predator will actually go into the run and/or coop during the day when the gate's open. So far, so good though.
